Hi everyone,
I am looking for some help with a project I am currently doing. I have taken on the task for a client of replacing all of their paper forms in favor of using Infopath to submit newly filled out forms to District Managers, Operations Managers, and people out in the field in a specific order. The forms need to be digitally signed by each person in the workflow, and each form will be accessed through a SharePoint form library.
I am quite familiar with designing the forms, and I am capable of most details regarding controls and design features, but I cannot figure out how to create a form and have it work properly with this whole process. I have a bit more than 50 forms to convert and implement into this new system.
Basically I need to know:
1. How to create a form properly to make it work with sharepoint, (what are the necessary steps to ensure success?)
2. How to manage the workflow of a form to ensure it gets submitted to the right person.
3. How to digitally sign a form and send it off to another person.
4. Where to store my databases so that my forms can access them from a workstation.
I am looking for any advice or help with these issues. Any suggestions about books I should purchase or websites with additional informaiton would be very helpful.
I am also interested if anyone would like to pick up some freelance work. I would be willing to offer a price on someone's expertise in training or advising me in any or all topics I listed above. I am located in the Chicago area so anyone in that region would be ideal in terms of being able to physically be present and/or work with a small group of people. If this sounds interesting to anyone, please don't hesitate to contact me at:
