Subtract Approved Form Value from Secondary Data Source SharePoint List Column

Banging Head against the wall.... I have an InfoPath 2013 Form that customers request supplies from that saves to a SharePoint list. The form has a repeating table that is linked to a secondary data source (SharePoint List) that contains an inventory of supplies The customer selects a "Nomenclature" from a dropdown list (secondary data source) their selection inputs a default value of 3 repeating table fields (items ID #),(Cost), (UOM). The customer then inputs the quantity they are requesting of that item. When they submit the form it is sent for approval - once approved I would like to subtract the quantity requested of each Items ID# from the secondary data sources quantity on hand field. Is this a rule I can add to the "Approved Button" if so a little guidance would be greatly appreciated, been working with so many formulas and rules that Im feeling stumped. Thank you

Unfortunately, InfoPath doesn't support updating secondary data sources out of the box. There are techniques for doing this - much depends on whether you are using SharePoint on-prem or online. There are also third party tools (my company makes some) that can do this. If you are using SharePoint on-prem I can point you to some instructions for doing this using SharePoint SOAP web services. If you are using SharePoint Online, you might be able to use Power Automate for this - you can read the XML in Power Automate and then use that data to update your other list.

Thank you! I am using SharePoint Online, but the version I am using does not utilize Power Apps. I will have to look at other methods - maybe move the running total to the list my form saves too and until then I will do it manually
