Filter not working between two DataConnections

Hello Forum ... thanks to be a new Member! I follow your forum since many Years and got real helpfull Information - Thanks for that and great work :) Maybe you can help me in this particular Problem ... i have two DataConnections in Listbound Infopath Form ... 1. Task Templates (eg. Task1, Task2, Task3, Task4, Task5) 2. Active Tasks (eg. Task3, Task4) Bind DataConnection 1 to Drop Down List Box Data Source and the result should be: Task1, Task2 and Task 5! And this is my Problem, which i tried to solve in many Ways ... The Filter is "working", if i choose "equal to" - i get only Task3 and Task4 but if i choose (my requirment) "not equal to" - i get all Items from DataConnection1!? Also tried the Filter with "all occurance of Title" or "Any occurance of Title" (on the left side of Query, cause the Option is only available on the "left" Side - which should be on the "right" Side of Query in my understanding, but not possible). Tried Expressions with not() and != and many other combinations, tried "not contains" and so on - No success. Hope someone can help me with that after days of failures. Thanks. regards Franz

Hi, welcome. I always struggle with this type of filter too. I think that what you need to do is use the "equal to" filter and then change the first dropdown where you build the condition to "the expression". Then, put parenthesis around the text in the expression builder and the word "not" before it, like: not(field1 = field2). If that doesn't do the trick, feel free to attach your template in a reply, under the options tab, and I can help you, ok?

Wonderful, so glad that did the trick. Can't tell you how many times I've gotten stumped on that kind of filter, I'm glad I was able to help you. :)
