Force dropdown value based on value selected in another dropdown

Hello, Not sure if this is cascading dropdowns, or if I need to create an XML data source, but I have two dropdowns, i.e, Dropdown A and Dropdown B. Dropdown B has only two values in the list - Material and Non-Material. If the user selects a certain value in Dropdown A, I want to force Dropdown B to default to a value of Material. If the user selects any other value, i want to provide the user with the ability to select either Material or Non-Material (i.e, just leave the second dropdown alone). I don't know if I need to use XML data source, or if there is a simple way to do this with rules. Thank you for any assistance. Lou

Well, you could use an XML data source. But if the only option is Material in some cases, I'd use a rule to set fieldB to Material and just hide the dropdown all together and display a calculated value. See attached sample. Right click and save the file locally, right click the saved file and select design. Preview, select Option B in the first dropdown.
