    Issue after Publishing

I am getting an issue with a InfoPath form after I publish it. The error is:

The form template contains files that are not referenced in the from definition (.xsf) file or are referenced more than once.

Anyone get this before and what typically was the issue?

On a side note this is occuring when I refresh a form from within K2 Workflow software. Prior to refreshing, there were no issues. Plus if I dive down into the C:\Program Files\K2.net 2003\Bin\Temp\disk1 the generated file is the same. Disregard this if you are not familiar with K2.

I resolved the issue and it had to do with special modifications that I needed handle within K2. Basically you cannot leave un-used files in the C:\Program Files\K2.net 2003\Bin\Temp\IPResourceFiles directory. If you do, when InfoPath is refreshed with K2, these files will be added a resource to InfoPath but the .xsf file will not be updated with those files.

Interesting! Thanks for the post. We need a separate area for K2 integration.

Patrick...Well maybe not a K2 integration area but maybe main general workflow area. K2 is out there as well there is BizTaks HWS and there has been this new Windows Workflow Foundation (WWF) out there. Since InfoPath is a great RAD tool that helps enable workflow applications, maybe that would be valueable.

I renamed "BizTalk Integration" to "Workflow". I recently purchased a book on WWF and we will be investigating it along with the O12 beta. I have also spent many a weary night working on BizTalk HWS integration (see chapter 11 in book) but I have heard rumors that it may be deprecated in future releases ...

Why'd you buy a book about WWF? I have a cousin that could tell you all you would ever want to know about the World Wrestling Federation.

I know WWF - wonder if Superfly Jimmy Stunka is any good with workflow applications...

Are you referring to -http://www.bookpool.com/sm/0672328488 - Presenting Windows Workflow Foundation: Beta Edition - ISBN 0672328488

I just put in a request with a manager to get it expensed :-) There is also a free virtual lab here on ithttp://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/tryit/hosted/windowsworkflow/default.aspx

On top of all my client work, I am trying to support this evangelist and I have been giving demos every other week to my company. I doing the BizTalk Rule Engine soon and was hoping to do WWF next. Hoping some research around it will allow me to understand the differences around WWF, K2 and HWS.

I heard the same too, the HWS could be on the way out. K2 is filling that void. I heard another rumor that K2 and WWF should not be stepping on each other's toes, but I need to look into that. I know MS has been after K2 in the past...

    Yes, that's the link.

Yeah, but what's really funny is that Microsoft is actually getting some grief from the World Wildlife Foundation (not to be confused with the Worldwild Wrestling Foundation!).

Your second link is not found.

The new MS Workflow looks good. But, with K2 already being so high altitude shutting off the oxygen might not have much effect .... ::)

Patrick, I have just heard that K2 may re-implement thier entire under-pinnings to use WWF. I would hope they do there is another company -http://www.captaris.com/news_and_events/press_releases/09_14_2005.html that seems they will be doing it. From a MS perspective they are providing a new workflow framework, like a WSS framework, which third party vendors like K2 can enhance and build on. I am excited.

    Hi Jason,
This is really a very strategic decision on their part and makes me think that it is very cool and worth looking into. Who is the host? How do we get a beta?

I was blown away when I heard but I am totally excited. I need to get through a couple things and then I am going to start my own spin up next month on WWF.

    Who is the host???

When I am able to get a beta will give you a heads up. I work for a K2 partner.

    Heya,
We're very interested in beta testing K2. I have talked with them before and may tap my VP contact at the company. When you say "Spin Up" what do you mean? How about we partner to create a series of WWF and K2 articles for InfoPath?
