Joined on 01-22-2020 West Palm Beach, FL Posts 7 Phone Number Not Updating Reply Contact I have an InfoPath Form, and I have a text box that populates with the submitters phone number, as they open the form from their Web Browser. A number of fields auto populate when a customer opens the form, (email, phone number and title). These fields auto populate from a Data Connection. Yet, after the form is submitted and added to a SharePoint Library, the SharePoint column for the phone number always populates with my phone number (Site Content Manager / Administrator) and editor of this InfoPath Form. The Phone Text Box properties is Value[Name = "WorkPhone"] - Required Field. Also, if it helps anyone, I did notice I have the box checked in the test box prosperities, that says " Refresh value when formula is recalculated". I am not sure if this is related or not. Finally, I am just wondering if I should just change this text box (phone) to a freeform text box and make the customer fill it out, instead of prepopulating it with a Data Connection it? Thoughts anyone? Roberto A. Reply Contact I think that what is probably happening is that the Phone Number ends up set to "whoever has opened and submitted the form last". Instead of using a default value, I'd use form load rules to set these, and I'd only set them when the form is new. If you are always setting email (and if the initial submitter will always have that field set) you could base your form load rule on that field - if email is blank, set email, phone number and title. The other fields (email and title) are not using my email or title, FYI. Reply Contact Can I see a copy of your form? You can attach a copy under the Options tab - it will be Monday before I can take a look. Reply Contact Looks like you already have a form load rule to set these fields - the rule name is New Form - Pre-Populate Employee Data. But the EventConEmail and the RequestorPhone also have default values (in the field properties). I would remove the default values and just let these fields get set with the form load rules. The same rules are on the Update Info button - except it is missing a rule to update the EventConEmail, so I'd add that rule action there. I also see what might be a little bug on the Submit button rules - the PreApproved by Employee rule doesn't change the Form Stage, so it may never be less than 1, which would cause the form load rules to run again.... Reply Contact I saw I had the form load rules, once you pointed me into that direction, thank you. This was originally written by someone else and I am coming behind trying to make some changes, FYI. So I will remove the default values in the text box proprieties. THen sa=ve and publish and see what happens. Of course, I will have to change it to someone's else's name and then use the Update Info Button, since my testers are all off of work now, We are EST. The Update Info button, is used when another person submits the form for someone else, and wipes out their auto load info, and adds their name info into those fields. Of course you know that most likely, sorry, no offense meant. I will add the same rule from the load form, to the update button, so I can test it properly. I removed the default values in the field prosperities and I also added the Set Field's Value Rule for EventConEmail in the "Update Info" rules. See attachment from this form's SharePoint Library and the column called Requestor Phone. You will see that the last item I just submitted (added) it has a different phone number than the other items, which was always showing my phone number. I am so happy you helped me fix this. The customer who this form is for was not happy that it kept showing my phone number. I appreciate your efforts, especially since I know you really did not want to look at it until Monday. Thank you Thank you. I looked at the Stage issue in the Submit Button, but I will need to give that more thought. This form used to have a SPD Workflow (approval process) but we don't use that anymore and that approval process is not needed. The stage was used for the approval process.
