    Dropdown list using column options?

Is there a way to use the options listed in the sharepoint list column settings, to populate a dropdown list on an InfoPath form? In sharepoint, the list has a column called "classification" and in the list settings, the column type "Text" is set with options "top, medium, lower". I have a "submit" data connection from the InfoPath form to the SharePoint list. When I add a field from the field list (data or query) as a drop down on the form, the drop down is not populated with the options from the list. If this is not doable, then how else might it be implemented? Thanks

Apparently these can be retrieved with a REST query. Are you using SharePoint online or on-prem? Is this a list form? I thought list forms automatically created a data connection to return choice options....

Using SP 2013 web (MS Edge) interface to a local on-prem server. The form is not auto populating , precisely why I raised the OP - strange isn't it.

Is this a list form? May I see it? You can attach the XSN under the options tab in a reply.

No, the list is a list - I do not understand your question: "Is the list a form" ? A list cannot be "a form". Sorry I cannot attach the list - that isn't possible for anyone. I gave up and created a set of lists and will use lookup fields on the form.

My question was "Is this a list form" - i.e. a form that submits data to a list. There are different types of forms. I was hoping to see your template. Glad you found a work around.
