Cannot open the Infopath form in SharePoint

I have designed an Infopath form where I use managed code to convert Amount(numeric) to Amount in words.I published it in a SharePoint Form Library.
When I run the project i.e in preview form, the form opens as expected.

Also when I use "localhost" http://localhost:9090/sites/SpeedPortal/test1/Forms/AllItems.aspx) in my SharePoint Portal URL,the form opens as expected.

But if I use the IP Address i.e http://172.29.17.93:9090/sites/SpeedPortal/test1/Forms/AllItems.aspx),
then I get the following error.

"InfoPath cannot open the selected form because of an error in the form's code.
    Execution permission cannot be acquired.
    "

Should this form be made full trust. If so,is Digital signature a must??

I face lot of security and permission related problems in Infopath. Is there any document where thse issues can be addressed?

    Hi,

You may have to add your URL in the list of Trusted sites in IE.

Is that all I need to do?
I tried but it dint work.
Do I need to make the form Full Trust using Regform tool?
But the problem is that it is an Infopath project using visualStudio. And I can see the form in design mode only when I run the project.

Don't add to Trusted Sites if you have managed and want to use Domain Trust. Thhis can hose your .NET permissions.

If the site you are trying to access is not in your domain (my guess), then the answer is "yes" - you will have to make your form full trust. You can use RegForm tool or a digital certificate. If you are publishing to SharePoint, I recommend digital certificates, but that requires users install it.

Re: Cannot open the Infopath form in SharePoint

    Hi Patrick,

The site I am trying to access is in my domain itself.
Also I use "Domain" form security settings.

I use web services to query ADS and populate listboxes.

Case1 - I publish the form using "localhost" in the URLhttp://localhost:1000/test/Forms/AllItems.aspx).

Case2 - I publish the form using hostname(or IP address) in the URLhttp://infch01143:1000/test/Forms/AllItems.aspx).

In both these cases if I open an Internet Explorer using "localhost" i.ehttp://localhost:1000/test/Forms/AllItems.aspx
the form opens fine in my machine.

But if I use hostname(or IP) when opening the IE i.ehttp://infch01143:1000/test/Forms/AllItems.aspx
then it first throws me a warning stating
"Some Files can harm your computer. If the file information looks suspicious and you donot fully trust the source, donot open the file.".

On clicking OK,an error is thrown stating
"Your user name or group membership cannot be verified because the form's security settings do not permit it.".

Instead of managed code,I used JScript some time back. The form opens fine from all the machines in my domain.

I need your help badly. Patrick.I need my Infopath form that uses managed code to open from all the machines in my domain.

Re: Cannot open the Infopath form in SharePoint

Hi Patrick,Not sure whether u have read my reply above

I even tried with a very simple infopath form where I type a value in 1 textbox. On clicking a button the value is copied to another textbox.I used Managed code. But when I open the form in sharePoint,it throws a warning stating..

"Some Files can harm your computer. If the file information looks suspicious and you donot fully trust the source, donot open the file"
Then it throws an error message stating....

"InfoPath cannot open the selected form because of an error in the form's code.
    Execution permission cannot be acquired."

    In the onclick event,I wrote thisXDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode("/my:myFields/my:field2").nodeTypedValue =thisXDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode("/my:myFields/my:field1").nodeTypedValue;

    hello,

i think you should try it with certificates. if able, this can solve your problem.

    Hi again Abhishek,
I'm sorry for the delay. I think we can figure this out but it might require a live meeting or something. Maybe you can send me e-mail with a good time on Thursday or Friday. It has to be a cross domain issue. Case2 sounds like the correct publishing method. What is the code that is calling ADS?

Sorry Patrick for the delay. Was out of town for sometime.
As you said before, it must have been a cross domain issue or something like that because I implemented the same in some other domain and it worked fine.
Thank you very much Patrick for your kind help.
