InfoPath 2007 Trust All Documents From This Publisher

    Hi,

We are using InfoPath 2007 forms signed with a code signing certificate and we do not use SharePoint. The InfoPath forms are only opened from our C# Winforms application using the FormViewer control, our users do not use InfoPath 2007. We are rolling out Windows 10 2004 update using SCCM to over 30,000 devices. About 1,000 of these devices have the application that uses InfoPath 2007 form. After SCCM installs the Windows10 2004 update it re-installs InfoPath 2007 on these devices. At that point our application is unable to open the InfoPath forms through the formviewer control.  On these machines our code signing certificate is still in the trusted publishers store, To resolve the issue we must open one of the forms in using InfoPath 2007 and answer yes to the question "Do you want to trust all documents from this publisher?". After answering yes our application works fine. We really want to avoid touching all 1000 machines. Is there a registry setting that can be set to tell InfoPath 2007 to trust all documents from this trusted publisher.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Hopefully someone who knows more about this than I will show up and reply to your question - but as a work around, I'm wondering about installing the form instead? If the form were installed on the user machines, they wouldn't get that prompt (and it wouldn't have to be assigned). I've never used Winforms with the FormViewer control, so I don't know if that is a solution that may be work investigating for you?

Just in case installing may work for you - this article has some info on step 11 in the "creating a fully trusted form" that may be helpful: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/client-developer/infopath/form-templates/understanding-fully-trusted-forms#creating-a-fully-trusted-form

     Hi Hilary,

Your suggestion to install the form is very interesting and the documentation was most helpful. We already digitally sign the forms with the code signing certificate in the trusted publishers store. If it is as simple as writing a script and using the RegisterSolution method of the application object that would be wonderful! We have aver 150 InfoPath forms that get deployed with our application. At one time, many years ago, we did create a MSI file to install each form but it was very time consuming so we switched to copying the .xsn files directly to the target device, BTW, that was some of the most complete and thorough documentation on InfoPath that I have ever seen!

    Thank you!

    Regards,
