InfoPath Dev

I have two forms I have saved to a document library (as content types) on SharePoint. I am trying to create a workflow that updates comments in one field of one of the forms (manager form) to another field in the other form (employee form). Is this even possible? I ask because when I go to create the workflow in SPD I don't see values that I can choose from that are in the forms and in infopath, when I try to create a rule, it's not possible as these are two separate forms? I hope I made sense... still trying to understand this.

What version of SharePoint Designer? 2013 has loops, I believe, so you could when a doc was submitted, see if you can figure out what content type it is, and if it a manager form, loop through all the forms in the library to find the employee form and update the field.... but that seems sort of awful. Would it be possible instead to use a form load rule on the Employee form so that when it is re-opened, it gets the data from the manager form?

This is for a 2010 workflow... I could try the form load rule, but not sure how to create that... sorry!

Do you have a promoted field in your library that lets you know which forms are associated with each other?

I'm not familiar with what a "promoted field" is.. I do apologize for not understanding your question, could I get an example?
