Avoiding #render error when [Me] filtering

    Hi,
I had had the well-known problem of #render failed while setting a filter with [Me] on text field...I tried to do this becouse I needed to have a view for my form library such that only one user (the boss) can view all published items while all users can view only their own published forms.
I had read the interesting article by Greg Collins

"Use the SharePoint 'Me' Filter with a Promoted Property"
    http://www.infopathdev.com/howto/tutorials/default.aspx?i=371d344d003946268efdd6b03fcbb6b4

it works good...today I've found an alternative solution...I've tried to insert a new column, called Viewer, in my form library with the boss' id, with lookup fields with "username" values and I've set a filter like this Viewer=[Me] and it works. This tecnique let me work the previous forms just published, but unfortunately, since lookup columns haven't default values, I need to insert the boss' id for each form that someone publishes...what do you think about it?

Use a secondary data source for the lookup and copy to the main data source then you can set the main data source field by default and only copy from the dropdown when there is an OnChange. You can use a rule to set the field in the main data source when the field in the view bound to the secondary data source changes.

:) Well, that's exactly the reason why we developed the ultra-valuable SharePoint Batch Upload tool!

    How silly am I!
Just a question, Patrick...in my context, if the user, who can view all items, creates a Personal View showing all items while others users, who can view only their own, has only an available public view with filter Create=[Me]...I solved my problem: becouse the my boss can view all items while other users only their own...i am right, aren't I? :)
P.S.: Patrick, just for your information...in this month in Alba, in Piemonte region, near Cuneo and Turin, there is a wonderful gastronomic-feast focused on Truffles...very good! There are black truffles and white truffles...I've been there 2 years ago, very nice :)

Wow! The pdfs from the second site are all in English. Quite beautiful, but are you sure you can handle my 2m appetite/thirst? The last days might work if I can get a ticket. Life is too short to pass this up.

    I'm quite sure!

Do you think that private list can be a simpler solution for my problem? :)))

Yes, private views are a simple workaround but it requires that everyone create one.
