wow, this makes me so happy!! sorting or highlighting is just window dressing really, I could use text to explain as well. either way as long as it's possible. so now how do I go about accomplishing this? Thanks

Here's a first attempt - just with the total for the vendor (from the call up list, I think?) and the vendor name & proportion - hopefully only for the selected SO....

So i think most of these things I'll be able to manage (i think), my biggest blank is how do I display all the vendors that are attached to a standing offer? I'm guessing it has something to do with a repeating table? I'm thinking I insert a repeating table then get it to display filtered vendors against the selected standing offer? similar to what you did to the form I sent, but the table would show all vendors? i feel this is my biggest roadblock.

Did the template I attached in my last post not help? I'd added a new section in there bound to callup - DC.

Hi Hilary, Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, crazy times! the new section you added did not bring up anything when previewed. I'm curious to know how the initial repeating table you made was filtered by the vendor. for some reason I can't figure out how you did it. i need that to happen, but i need the filter to be on the standing offer selected and to show all vendors, is that possible? Thanks

Take a look at the conditional formatting on the section - I'm just checking if the ID of the Vendor matches the selected Vendor. I made a modification to the new section in this sample - one thing that might also help while trying to work out the formatting is to change the conditions from hiding to just highlighting with a color.

Hi Linda, just wanted to say thank you for this, and sorry i haven't responded. I'm still working on form, it's just taken a back seat at the moment.

Hi Hilary, I was taking a look at this form and for some reason in the repeating table showing vendor information under the standing offer number it appears to be showing the ID and not the value. I've been poking at the DC and the other fields, but I can't seem to get the Standing offer number to appear in that field, any ideas? Thanks

Standing Offer is a lookup, right? So probably need to use a calculated value for that.

Yes. Standing Offer is a lookup, but now that I think about it, it doesn't need to be there. I do need some of your infopath magic though, the form that we have been discussing is from a draft list on my test site. I've got my lists built on my main site now, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how you added that repeating table and section. would you be able to add them to this attached form on the second page please? By the way, do you offer consulting services? Thanks!

Try this one - I added the same tables from the other form on the Calculations view - let me know if you need help with other formulas / data you want.

The company I work for, Qdabra Software (which runs this forum) does offer consulting & support - you can order pay-as-you-go support here or use the Contact Us form to request info on consulting projects.

this is perfect, thank you so much! I've been trying to display a value (SO type) from the SO_DC based on the SO number selected in this form, but I can't seem to make it work. is this something that I can just query, or do I need to use a rule to populate it? can you take a look and let me know what I'm doing wrong please? I just found out that this might get quite a bit more complicated and I'll have to do some filtering of vendors that get displayed, which I am not sure I can figure out. I need to confirm a few things and speak with my boss, but I might be interested in an incident package. thanks again for your help! have a great weekend. Daniel

Try this one. So - I think because the SO number in the form is a lookup, the value stored for that dropdown is actually the list item ID from the SO list. So I changed your filter to use the ID instead of the number.

this is great, thanks so much! I always forget about the Lookup/ID thing.

I was thinking about using some of these numbers in SharePoint, is it possible to bind the calculated values that InfoPath comes up with in the repeating section (vendors per SO) into fields in the SharePoint list? Or does this mess everything up? Thanks
