    SharePoint Template Query

    Hi

I have been tasked with decommissioning my organisations SharePoint 2010 sites.  So far the teams I have spoken to have all used SharePoint as an extension of their shared drives so its been pretty straightforward.  The problem I have now is that some departments have utilised InfoPath forms for their processes and as such are unable to simply move away.  Having looked into InfoPath in a bit more detail it seems that the templates are all saved within SharePoint and as a result I am unable to use the templates as is due to their current locations.  If I was to switch SharePoint off the templates would be lost?

Is there a way of re pointing templated forms from SharePoint to a Shared Drive so that the teams can continue to use the original forms? - Once SharePoint is switched off I need to be able to use the templates as a completely separate tool

Is this even possible without having to recreate the entire form again and publish it to a Shared Drive?

    Thanks

If these are list forms, you will be a bit stuck. If they are library forms, you could open the template in design mode, use save as to save a copy, then republish to a network location. However, you'll also need to change the submit logic for the forms, and perhaps they have other SharePoint dependencies. For the existing XML, you can save them to a network location and use a tool like PowerShell to overwrite the href attribute in the XML to repoint the XML to the new publish location.
