Submission error with repeating table within a repeating section

Hi wondering if anyone can help, i'm very new to InfoPath so don't fully understand everything.

I have designed a form for Audit purposes, I need to be able to have a common denominator of unit number and consultant linked to the audit data. The audit data needs to be able to add extra rows so I have created this using a repeating table within a repeating section.

I am able to submit the data with additional rows but as soon as I add another section it comes up with an error message and wont submit the data, really cant get my head around it.

(Unit number 1 / consultant 1 will submit but as soon as I add the second section unit number 2 / consultant 2 it errors)

     Hi Hilary

     thanks for you quick reply.

It says the form cannot be submitted because of an error

    InfoPath cannot submit the form.
An error occurred while the form was being submitted.
Empty row cannot be inserted. Row must have at least one column value set.

Hmmm. I'm wondering if when you add another section, the repeating table in it has a single blank row - perhaps that is what is causing the error? If it does, and you delete the row, does the submit succeed? You can also attach a screenshot of the form under the options tab in a reply (just save the screenshot as a .png or .jpeg first) so I can see what the form looks like when the submit fails...

Could I see a copy of the template? You can also attach that under the options tab to a reply - I can delete it right after downloading it. :) I'm wondering about the repeating patient details section - is that on the form? It looks like there are multiple nested repeating nodes, so I'm wondering if it is something not displayed that is causing the issue.

Thanks - I grabbed it then deleted your post, since this template would have database connection info in it :)

So - try this, just for an experiment. Insert the entire Date__Ward_information repeating node on your form as a repeating section with controls - just anywhere on there, you can easily delete it after testing. I think the issue is related to the binding in the view - you are inserting a new Date__Ward_information node, but not setting any values in it - you are setting values in one instance in your initial view, but not in your second view. I also think your data structure may not match your intent - it looks like the patient details info may need to be the parent of the aub aux data.

So - same error when you filled out the form using the controls directly bound to the data source? Can I see another screenshot?
