2013 InfoPath WebForm - Option Buttons control - the "Required" Functionality does not work.

I have four option buttons bounded to a single REQUIRED field in a long InfoPath 2013 Web Form (with many other controls) published to a content type of a site and added to a Form Library. However, when this form is published and when user tries to submit the application form, it can be submitted without any problem, even though the option buttons are left blank! The form field has been made REQUIRED by selecting/marking "Cannot be Blank" in the Field or Group Properties of the form field. Also, each option button control is marked "Cannot be blank" in the Option Button Properties under validation.

Any suggestion to fix this issue is appreciated.

That's really strange! And they are submitting, not saving? That is - if they are using Save from the ribbon, I don't think the data has to be valid.

The user is submitting the form (not saving). This field is used to filter all the applications depending on the Finance Type and displayed in a webpart report on different pages! Having field left blank, it makes it hard  to account for all the submissions. I have removed and recreated the control box but to no avail!

Thank you for your review though!

Hide the submit button on the ribbon. Disable your form submit button if the field isn't filled out.... Then they can't submit unless the data is there. :)
