I am having a hard time getting this to work as expected i have followed several threads on here as well as other sites and still stuck on how to get this to provide a unique id and when a modification is made save it back to the same form and NOT create a new record. I have the check box telling it if it exists to allow overwrite but it is just creating a new record every time. I have attached the form I hope someone can help me this is the very last piece i need to figure out before UAT tomorrow (YIKES) Thank you in advance. Dorinda

I think you need to get the max ID and add one. Check the submit rules on this copy.

Oh - wait - I forgot one thing, in this case we need to make sure we only do this if num id is blank. One minute and I'll post another copy.

Ok, try this one. I broke out the submit rules into two rules.

So I am not getting the true number reference the picture attached? Still testing if it is doing as expected any idea why the numbering is off

Also when I went into the record to approve it, it created a new record and spawned all new emails again. Not updating the current one.

You are using the second template I attached? The one with two submit rules?

I see the issue. There is a default value for numID that is causing the problem. Remove the default from numID.

basically in the same form you are helping me with on the OrderFF form I need to include all of the fields in a table in the email that is sent, so all of the fields Qty, Item# Unit Price and Total Price for however many are entered in the repeating table. I am stuck on how I am supposed to build the rule to be HTML and have that saved over to the fields as HTML to that when it populates to the email it is in a nice table. I dont understand this piece and where I am supposed to put it Encode repeating data into HTML In InfoPath rule, with recursive formula
