 I have a group of representatives that need to track calls all day. I envisioned a small GUI where they could just click buttons for types and it would create an item (RULE= submit when click but NOT close form).  but it wont allow me to submit more than one. is there a way to do this?

Yah, I don't think there is a way to trick a list form into doing this. You could use a library form tho - would that work for you? Just have a form field called "FormName" (not on the form) and on each button click set it to a different value (like the username, date time & the button clicked) so that you have unique names.
