Hi, I am new to infopath, programmer for some other application. retrieving data from sql is working. Anybody give me an idea or link where i can learn to submit data to sql in infopath2013? I've trying this for 1 week in online, no help. Thanks,

In order to submit to SQL without code, you need to create the form from the Database template. To submit with code, not using a data connection, I'd think you'd need the form to be full trust - but if you have a receive data connection, you could probably leverage that & change the command to use a stored proc (for example) - passing in your form values in code.

Thank you Hilary, for the reply. But, my form is 2013 SQL Database form, connection established, and able retrieve data from the table. The Submit is grayed out while making connection and when I try submit, nothing happens. Please inform is there anything else i have to setup to make this Submit button work? I changed compatibility, trust, etc, still no luck. thanks again, from UAE

Submit may be disabled due to field types or if this is a browser form. Change the compatibility to Filler, and walk through the connection again. https://support.office.com/en-us/article/introduction-to-submitting-form-data-29b2e228-568d-4d97-bebb-8a92fde59c98#bm2 has info on data types.

hi, thanks again. Gone through the link you provided.. I already tried that, but no luck. I am using infopath 2013. i set the compatibilty, then tried to modify the connection. still the submit option is grayed out. Ooops, why microsoft made this complications.

Your database tables have none of the types that cause Submit to be disabled? Those are the only 2 things I know of that cause this. Form compatibility and data types.

Hi Hilary, My table contains 2 fields, Number (int) Name (nVARCHAR(50) any issues with this?

Hi Hilary, Waah, now I got submit option. There was no primary key I set for the table. I made number column as primary key, then tried modifying the data connection, now submit option is on my eyes..thanks for the support Let me go on, brb if any more issues, thanks again from UAE
