 Hi,

I have to update some promoted fields on an InfoPath (2013) form template. One issue I have is, I set up a rule to an existing date field to auto populate a date based on another date field.

It works fine for the new form. But after I relinked all the existing forms in SharePoint form library, the date only shows up on the form, but not displaying in the SharePoint form library, unless I click save button.

There are about 900 forms in the form library, how to populate the date to the form library?

The rules in your form will only run when the field the rule is on is changed - so even just re-opening the existing forms will only execute the rule if the field with the rule changes when the form is opened. There is no out of the box way to update these. I often copy XMLs locally and use PowerShell to apply an XSLT, then copy the forms back into the library - you may need to take that type of approach.
