Hide (filter) row if exists in another repeating table

    Hi

I have created two repeating tables in InfoPath 2010  from different webservices. One is the main and other is the secondary.

Both repeating tables contains a field with common data. Table A (main) contains all the data and Table B contains some identical items. I want to remove all the identical items from Table A that exist in Table B where common field match.

I attempted to use a rule to hide but this does not work. column X in Table A contains in column X in Table B

    Thanks

Here's a sample. Save the file locally. Right click the saved file and select design, then preview. Let me know if you have any questions. :)

Re: Hide (filter) row if exists in another repeating table

     Hi

    Thanks for the sample :)
I think I have realised where the problem is as it still does not work for me. I placed the secondary datasource on the canvas within a repeating table. Then created a rule to  hide some rows based on other fields on the form.

So now when I try to Filter for the difference on the main datasource, If I was to select the secondary datasource then this is the original data and not filtered.

So I think the main datasource needs to filter the data on the actual form, not the original data source, however this is derived (linked) directly from the secondary datasource. Perhaps these need to be different controls so I can pick them up when I attempt to filter the main datasource?

    Hope that makes sense?

     Thanks again

Can you attach a copy of your form under the Options tab so I can better understand your situation?

So, I'm sorry - I'm still confused. The "Difference" table is the one that the conditional formatting is not working on? You are trying to show rows there that are not present in the secondary data source (third repeating table on the form) based on student reference? Can you attach a screenshot (under the Options tab) showing the form not working, so I have a better idea of what isn't working? :)

     Hi

The difference table should have only one conditional formatting (displaying difference of the two tables). Its meant display results (All results minus Already entered)  based on Stutent Reference

Already Entered table has a conditional format to display students from a specific subject, At the moment I've hard wired this but later it will grab filter information from the form. I think because I have applied filtering here it interferes with creating the correct rule for the difference table above because difference rule uses the datasource and not the filtered table.

    Apologies of the confusion

    Hope that helps.

     Hi Hilary,

I've modified your sample file to highlight the problem I'm facing and also added some info in the sample to explain issue.

I think it may simply be an adjustment in the rule applied to the results table to take account of hidden rows in Table B, might require a nested rule?

Could you look at the attachment please?

     Thanks

Thanks - that made it easier for me to understand. Here's an update that I believe accomplishes your goal.
