Auto filling a People Picker with a Group Mailbox/Distribution List

So i know how to auto-fill a People Picker with the user currently opening the InfoPath form by setting the 3 attributes: AccountID, AccountType and DisplayName but I can't figure out how to get it to work with a shared mailbox coming from Active Directory. I have the People Picker set to allow groups & people, and I can get the mailbox to populate okay, but when I try to save a form I get the error: The form cannot be submitted. The user does not exist or is not unique. Any help would be much appreciated as this method is much easier than trying to do everything with workflows.

Anyone have any tips on getting this to work? I can't be the first person trying to accomplish this task within InfoPath..

So if you pick the group using the people picker, the form saves, but when you populate the fields using rules it fails? If that's the case, I'd put a repeating table on the form bound to the people picker repeating group so you can see the values being set when you use the people picker vs. your rules. Sorry I don't have other suggestions, it just isn't any thing I've needed to do before. :)

No problem! Thanks for the tip - I'll give that a shot!
