Displaying the drop down selection from a lookup field in a different view

     Hi

I've got a form with two different views. In View A I've got a drop down field which is being populated via a data connection to a drop down column on a different list. It populates fine, but when I test it out all the info from View A shows on View B except the slected drop down? Any idea how I can solve this?

    Thanks in advance.

Any chance I can see a copy of your form?

     Hello again Hilary!

     Of course, here it is.

Which views / fields have the issue? :)

It's the System Name drop down on the Developer View. Whatever I select doesn't show up on the same field in the IQ Fields view.

I'm having the same problem with a different form with a text box field, I need a way for the information entered in one view to populate the same fields in a different view.

As long as the control is bound to the same field, you should see the value selected. However, I do notice that the dropdown in the IQ Fields is using a different data source for its options - could that be the issue?

Possibly. The drop down is getting it's choices from another list on the site, so it's using an external data source. Is that a problem? Is there a work around?

Why? Why do you have the same dropdown getting values from different places? I'd guess that the field is set to an ID number that doesn't exist in the other list.

     Hi Hilary

The list used in the drop down is systems we use and is maintained on another page if that makes sense. So I need to include the ID number in the Data source/value?

In a connected question is there a reason that a information entered in a Text Box field in one view wouldn't appear in another?

What I'm trying to say is that your list form is going to be storing an ID for the item, which is going to be different in the other list. I suggested you display it as an expression so you can get a better understanding of what may be going wrong. In general, if you put a text box bound to the same field in multiple views, whatever the current value of that field will be displayed. Here's a sample form. Save it locally, right click and select design to open in design mode.
