I Have an repeating section in which i have Calculated field. This calculated field queries the max date in repeating table. my:TASK/my:TASKS[translate(my:TASKETA, "-T:", "") = xdMath:Max(xdMath:Eval(/descendant-or-self::node()/my:TASKETA[. != ""], 'translate(., "-T:", "")'))]/my:TASKETA this is working fine. But as soon as i create a new repeating section and try to insert date in repeating table the first repeating section value vanishes. Please help me in this

You just want to display the max "TASKETA"? In all instances of the repeating section? I'm afraid your screenshots didn't really clarify anything for me...

yes You are right i need to display TASK eta with max and min dates in every repeating section

Here's a sample. Save the attached file locally. Right click and select design to open in design mode. From there you can preview and try it out.

I see, you have nested repeating data. So - you need the max of TASKETA for each individual Milestones group?

Hello Hilary i did tried this and its working on preview mode but when i publish this to my form library it gives error "Nan" it seems max function is only for whole number not for date. could you please help me with this.

In the form I sent you, the helper field does have a whole number in it (or should) - the translate function is being used to remove the "-" from the date field. You may want to put the helper field on your form, displayed as text, so you can verify the default value there is working correctly.

yes you were correct the default value was set on text i changed it and now its giving me result but the only problem is not that i have date in 27-11-2017 format and the outcome of helper field gives me date in number format like 27112017

You should consider changing the datatype of the datepicker field to date - then regardless of the format, the XML will have yyyy-MM-dd
