Sending Field as .CSV to Desktop

Thank you Hilary for assisting with inserting a paragraph return into a field on my form. It was basically a rehash of my 2011 post. I was finally able to use "<br / >" in my concatenation formula and it worked in a text field, but not a rtf.

I also read several posts about sending the contents of this field as a .CSV file to the user's desktop, but I since I don't do code, I'll need some assistance.

I want to send a field in a .CSV file to the user’s desktop (or a specific shared folder) with the name (TB_FileName) and the contents (TB_CSVText). I can take code snippets from someone and copy it somewhere, but that’s about it. I read this post (http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/30160/103197.aspx#103197) and I see the “Edif Form Code” button on my Button Properties – General tab, but I take it I’ll have to download Visual Studio 2012 first, correct.

Can someone assist with the code snippet and instruct me on how/where to put it? From what I've read, I'll also need to publish this Web form differently because it now contains code - perhaps via CA.

I would imagine that saving data to the user's desktop from a browser form would be very complex. I'm not even sure what to suggest. But you could probably save to a shared folder as long as that folder is mapped on your SharePoint Server. You will need to have Visual Studio 2012 installed (if you are using InfoPath 2013). The form will need to be set to full trust and admin deployed.

I have InfoPath 2013. Will Visual Studio 2017 work or do I need 2012?

I believe you have to use VS 2012.
