Hello,
I posted here a few months ago about a form I was working on so I'll copy and paste some of the background around this form to this post.
"I have an InfoPath form I'm working with that is used for an internal R&D process around product cuttings. The data model I have created in SharePoint is 3 lists: Cuttings, Samples, and Evaluations. So how it works is the person in R&D will create an item in the cuttings list, create samples linked to a cutting in the samples list, and employees will give their feedback in the evaluations list. The InfoPath form I have created is on the Evaluations list.
On the form, an employee has to select a cutting (data source: cuttings list). Once a cutting is selected, employees have to select a sample #. The sample #s are filtered to the selected cutting (data source: samples list w/ selected cutting as a filter). Below the sample # dropdown, I have a repeating section which just pulls back the name of the selected sample #. Afterwards, there are some fields to evaluate the sample. All of these are in a repeating section as sometimes a cutting can have multiple samples we need to evaluate.
Example:
Cutting: Bacon
Sample #: 123
Sample Name: Thick cut (this is in its own repeating section, I used this to pull back the name from the sample #)
Color: 3
Texture: 3
Saltiness: 3
Overall Liking: 7"
There is a new requirement to add a field called Rank. The values for Rank should be based on how many Samples have been set up for a specific cutting. So if Cutting X has 3 samples, the values for rank should be 1, 2, and 3. But if Cutting Y has 5 samples, the values for rank should be 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Is there any possible way to do this?
