Add repeating area as required in Infopath form

New to Infopath so plz forgive me.

Am trying to design an e-mail form that allows users to add people info with various data fields then, if required, add a new person data using same questions and so on. Currently I have been trying to place the data fields within a repeating section as I want the form as big as required only

The problem arises when I add new person it copies the fields from the 1st person not allowing me to add new data into 2nd person. Same thing when I was trying Attach a file and add a 2nd one

An example as below is what I was trying to do. Any advice would be appreciated

    Thanks

It sounds like perhaps your field binding is incorrect. Your screenshot doesn't show for me - can you attach it under the Options tab in a reply, or even better, attach a copy of your form?

Here's a fixed up copy. Save the linked file locally, right click the saved file & select Design to open in design mode. I moved your field into the repeating group in the form's schema (also did that for your file attachment control that looked like you wanted it repeating). I see you have given some fields names - be sure before you put this in production you remove any fields you aren't using and give all those you are using good names, so the form is easier to work on. :)

Sorry Hilary, one problem identified. When adding a new person it all works great except for the Surname field. If you click it hightlights the whole area as blue and doesnt allow you to type anything.

All the other fields work correctly. I attached a screenshot

Oh - I've seen this before. Sometimes IP doesn't include a field by default when the user adds a section. Under the properties for the repeating section, you can edit the defaults & you'll see something like this screenshot. I'll add another reply here w/ your form fixed up, but wanted you to know about this setting.

Here's another copy. I also added a translate function to your "age" default to get rid of the NaN error when DOB is blank.

    Hilary,

Again thank you for fixing the age "NaN". Tried a myriad of ways to get rid of it. Do the 2 boxes always have to come up when it calculates? Not an issue as it does the calculation anyways

You have rules on the date of birth field that are displaying those dialogs. Just remove the rules....
