I know its possible to query a fields value with a filter on... but is it possible to query and filter that date then set a filed to that same number but +1 ?
So as an example...
I have a PrefixValue field which is set to be either A, B, C, or D
I have a AutoNumber field (which i want to start at a certain number, say 8000)
I have a SuffixValue field which is set to be either H, I, J, or K
so Id like to have my form query the library for the prefix and autonumber to the newest value if it start with A, B, C, or D and then query the AutoNumber field so lets say it finds 8000 as the first Autonumber value in the library that starts with A, if someone else opens the form and picks "A" for the prefix id want it to look at the list and then make there number A8001.
Is this possible? If it is would anyone mind helping me out? the next issue would be how would i prevent the form from giving out the same numbers if two people opened it at the same time?
sorry for the rant or if its confusing I'm trying to explain it the best way i know how.
The formula i came up with is: max(Auto_x0020_Number[Prefix_x0020_Value = "Z"])+1
