InfoPath Dev

Hello, I have an InfoPath 2010 form which populates fields based on a Drop-Down list selection, however, after making another selection in the Drop-Down List box, the values in the other fields do not change. I have the condition "None - rule runs when field changes" - the drop down list selection box, with condition "Run these actions: Add Set a field's value" trying to set the field values based on the drop-down list box selection. Populating the Drop-Down list box is working, initial load of the other fields after selecting a value from drop-down list is working. Let me know if you have any suggestions setting the Condition, Rule Type, Run these actions, setting up the data connections etc. Thank you in advance

 So - the rule is on the field bound to the dropdown? That is a common error I see - people accidentally set the rule on the target field, not the field that will be changing. Then, since you don't have any conditions to worry about, I guess the next thing would be - are the rules correct? What are you setting values to? Is it to other values in the same secondary data source? I'd check the filter on those - make sure that's correct.... Finally, be sure the field is truly changing, as a rule will only fire if a field changes. So you could set the dropdown back to blank & see what happens, then set it to another value & see what happens.

Ok - I think maybe there are a few things going on here. To start with, I'd try just modifying the rules on your Query SRs ID dropdown - just disable your current rules, and simply add a rule to Query the main data source. That should automatically populate your data fields with that record. If you only want people to be able to select unsubmitted items, add a filter to your dropdown so they can't select an ID that has been submitted. :)

Perfect! Glad you have it working. So - your instincts were right here, you were setting a query field and running a query. The issues were that were conditions that may have been preventing the query from running & the Main Data Source is going to automatically populate those data fields. :)

 Hilary, having an issue I had previously but can not resolve this time. In the Query SRs view of attached template, the drop down list only allows me to select record ID 1, I can not view any other records. I thought I had everything matched up with the test version (which is working) but can not get this one working. Any assistance will be appreciated. Thank you in advance

I wonder if it the binding on the dropdown? You have it bound to the data field, not the query field - so I'd check that first.
