Filter or query based on two dates - capturing only the number of months between the two dates.

Hoping for some suggestions on how to accomplish this. I have two date fields that I want to calculate the number of months between the two and then show data that falls between that time.

Calculating the number of months is not easy - there are some complex calcs you can find online for doing this sort of thing in IP - I'm not math-y and actually am more likely to just write code for it. HOWEVER - hiding rows in a date range is easy - see attached sample. You can save the file locally, right click and preview. I've got some default data in there so you can just set a start & end and see the filtered results. :)

Thanks Hilary, that's what I thought. I did end up filtering on the date range. I had to get creative though because the item has a Due Date but it's recurring, so what I ended up doing was creating SP Workflows to update the next due date based on if it was monthly - advance it 1 month, annually - advance it 1 year, 3 years - advance 3 years etc. Then I set it up using a Information Management Policy and enabling Retention to kick off the workflow recurring. This way the dashboard will accurately display info as the dates change.
