Adaptive drop down list based on choices in SharePoint

I am relatively new to SharePoint and have been tasked to setup a basic event scheduler for a specific event in May.  I have start a custom list but am not sure how to set the events to only show when certain items are selected.

    e.g.

    List 1:

    Biology

    Chemistry

    Maths

    Physics

    List 2:

    Lab Worker

    Office Worker

    Options:

Monday 1st – 9am to 12pm   (Physics and Maths Lab only)

Tuesday 2nd – 1pm to 5pm  (Chemistry and Physics Office only)

Wednesday 3rd - 9am to 12pm (Maths Office and Lab only)

Thursday 4th - 9am to 12pm (All Dept Office only)

So if you selected Physics and the Lab Worker you would only get Monday as an option in the dropdown list. While if you selected Physics Office Worker you would get Tuesday and Thursday options in the dropdown list.

Is this possible to do? How?

Also to complicate things, if there were limited places available, how could I set a cap on that up (e.g. Monday had 10 places max available)

    Thank you

As to the cap - you'd have to check submitted items and get a count. For the cascading dropdowns, you need to associate items in your lists. In your third list, you'd add a column for Worker and for Category (or whatever list 1 & 2 are named), and allow multiple suggestions. Then you'd have the data you needed to filter these successfully.

Hello, Could you please go into more detail (step by step) of how to do the above? I need to accomplish something very similar for my VP and have not been able to get the desired results. What I'm hoping to accomplish is have one drop down determine what drop down options appear in a second drop down and potentially third. For Example: Drop Down 1: Ideation ---> Drop Down 2: N/A ---> Drop Down 3: N/A Drop Down 1: Project ---> Drop Down 2: High, Medium, Low ---> Drop Down 3: Pipeline, Executing, Monitoring, Radar, Closed The form is linked to a SharePoint library if that makes a difference. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
