Default value change impact on existing data

    InfoPath Form Library forms:

For the two existing "Required" fields that currently have no defaults values . These two fields are not used for future submission cycles. If I add a default value to FALSE or a Zero for these two Boolean type fields. Would that affect existing data? Meaning would the default value override the submitted values for any of the applications if they are opened for read only purpose and then closed?

    Thanks, Sue

It shouldn't - but there is an easy way to test this. Download an existing XML file. Make the change in your form. Under Form Options > Preview, navigate to your downloaded file using the browse button where you can select data to preview with - preview, and use File > Save As to save a copy of the file again. Open the saved file with a text editor to inspect the XML.
