VS05 is a much better dev enviornment. There have been numerous improvements. Personally I prefer it, though for development reasons on various projects, I have both VS03 and VS05 installed side-by-side and switch between them as needed. You can certainly try this as well.
If you are going to make the jump to IP07, you should probably go ahead and install VS05 along side it. There is better integration there.
