    Totalling values from Sharepoint column

This is what I'm doing and what I need to accomplished. I have a currency field in the form and let's call it "Amount". I'm publishing the form to a Sharepoint library and I'm pushing the "Amount" field to show in Sharepoint for people to fill out and then save it back to the library. Now, in the same form i have a numeric field call "TotalAmountForAllForms" that suppose to sum up the values from the "Amount" field for ALL the forms in the same library list.

I know you could easily create a drop-down list and call the database connection string to read from Sharepoint "Amount" column and it'll list all the values.

In code (javascript and xpath), how can you call a particluar Sharepoint colunm and total up the values?

Please help. Thank you in advance.

    Regards,

    A.J

Hi A.J. and welcome to the forum,
I think this is difficult. You can do it but it will take a lot of custom code to access the values. Why not just turn demotion on and use the values from the forum? Demotion allows for saving values back to the forms from SharePoint. There are a couple issues with demotion and I have heard it was disabled by a recent service pack. If you don't have that service pack, it's probably still there. In the future (this summer), the Forms Server will provide the same functionality.
