    Init Method of InfoPathControl object

    Hi,

I have created a custom control using C#. In the control class I implemeted Microsoft.Office.Interop.InfoPath.InfoPathControl interface which has four methods (Init,Uninit,SaveState,Enable). These methods are suppose to be called by InfoPath. Methods other than Init are getting called properly but Init is never called.

Has anyone faced a similar problem?

    Regards,
    Gaurav

    Hi,

This was my third post to this forum but i could not get even a single answer. Are my questions unclear or am I asking something illogical?

It seems like you are being clear, but I have never used managed code with Infopath, and I have definitely never heard of the InfoPathControl class. I guess you are trying to make a custom ActiveX control? Anyway, sorry I can't answer your question - hopefully someone will stumble upon it that can.

    Hi Gaurav Bhardwaj and welcome,
I'm sorry for the delay. Jim is our ActiveX control guru. I'll ask him to respond.

Re: Init Method of InfoPathControl object

If the InfoPathControl::Uninit, InfoPathControl::SaveState and InfoPathControl::Enable implementations are getting called, I would suspect a problem with the InfoPathControl interface definition. Are you importing the declaration, or using a hand roled definition of the interface?

If you've hand crafted it, please post you code.

Another possibility is that code in the function is failing to JIT (just-in-time compile). You might try just an empty Init implementation, except just add a System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Launch() call.

Re: Init Method of InfoPathControl object

You made it! I took sample from "InfoPath Team Blog"
    http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2006/12/18/creating-complex-infopath-controls-in-c-sharp.aspx
and InfoPath 2003 crash in preview (Bhuuuuaaaa)
My C# control work properly as long as I don't try to implement InfoPathControl interface. If you could send me your code on Email.
    Thanks.
