    referencing mshtml.dll

    Hi,

im using mshtml.dll to reference fields in a taskpane throught managed code.

everything works fine @ my end, but the customer keeps getting the error below:

File or assembly name Microsoft.mshtml, or one of its dependencies, was not found.
    at infopath_test2.infopath_test2.submitToSharePoint_OnClick(DocActionEvent e)
    at Microsoft.Office.Interop.InfoPath.SemiTrust._ButtonEventSink_SinkHelper.OnClick(DocActionEvent pEvent)

i tried setting "copy local" on mshtml.dll but InfoPath wont have it (throws a security error).

the customer has the dll placed in the same lib as me:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft.NET\Primary Interop Assemblies

how do i ensure that the dll is available and usable by InfoPath?

    thanx
    //AndersR

ps: yes the customer *has* .net 1.1 and infopath sp1 installed ;-)

    Hi,

You need to copy Microsoft.mshtml.dll into the GAC of your machine (typically: C:\WINDOWS\assembly). Then you need to register the file (with a batch file for example):
    C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\gacutil.exe /i C:\WINDOWS\assembly\Microsoft.mshtml.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\regasm.exe C:\WINDOWS\assembly\Microsoft.mshtml.dll

    hi franck,

ok i thought of this but rejected it since the dll's are interop dll's so i recogned they were COM and not .NET dll's.

Ill make it a part of the MSI installer.

    Thanx!

Hi All I have the exact same issue but I have a custom .Net dll that I've written that calls another 1 of my dll's. I get the same error. How can I do this so I don't have to use an installer.
