InfoPath Dev

Hi Guys, I've been using InfoPath and SharePoint Designer 2010 for a little over a year now but i keep getting an error i haven't quite been able to figure out. Occasionally, when i ask a workflow to update an item in another list or library, some of my users get this error - The workflow could not update the item, possibly because one or more columns for the item require a different type of information. For most instances of the workflow, the entire process run seamlessly but occasionally, it just runs into this error. Any insight will be much appreciated.

 Completely random? Like - if you re-run the workflow for the same item, with no changes, it will run successfully? Or could it be that in some cases there is a data mismatch?

Hi Hilary, thanks for the reply. I've seen a few of your articles and videos; you've been a big help. Completely random in that a user creates an item and the workflow runs fine. He may try again and the error comes up. When I try to manually start the workflow I get another message - there are no workflows available for this item

Hmmm. So maybe the workflow can't be manually started? And in both instances (workflow runs & workflow errors) the same values are used in the list item? May need to try to track it down in the SharePoint logs...

I've escalated to the Central Admin. He's still researching a fix for it. Thanks anyways
