How do I publish an InfoPath form to SharePoint for offline use?

I'm really sorry to have to ask, but I can't find documentation that I can understand :-(

I have a form that I have created in InfoPath. I have uploaded this form SharePoint, and when users click on New->Form, they can fill the form in.

What I now need to make this form available for offline use, so that remote users with no network connection can fill the form in on their tablet devices and have the filled out forms submitted to the document library when they get network connection.

    It's just so confusing!

So - do your users have InfoPath installed on their tablets?

     They do yes.

And your form is a filler form, not a browser form? I'm wondering if they have opened it up at least once from SharePoint (so the template is cached), if they couldn't just re-open it from the InfoPath > File > New menu once offline.... Maybe try that?

A-ha! Thanks Hilary - I had the wrong form type selected. It's now working OK.

Can I ask, is there any way of automating the submissions when the tablet gets network connectivity, or do the forms still need to be submitted manually?

Finally, if the forms have to be submitted manually, is there a way of forcing the files to save with the date and time appended to the filenames (so that the end user can't simply overwrite an existing locally saved form)?

Thank you for your help so far :-)
