need permanent fix to url in 'template link' instead of only using "relink documents"

InfoPath 2010 & SharePoint 2007.  Our company uses one InfoPath form.  It is not web-enabled, nor do we wish it to become one.  Just about every form comes through with this template link:

    http://mycompany/sites/EquipRental/FormServerTemplates/Equipment%20Rental%20Form.xsn?SaveLocation=http://mycompany/sites/EquipRental/Lists/EquipmentRentalForm/&Source=http://mycompany/sites/EquipRental/Lists/EquipmentRentalForm/Forms/AllItems.aspx%

The form sends an email with a hyperlink in it but it comes up with “the form is closed” when someone tries to use it.  The form’s template has always been in the same place it is today.

The ‘relink’ function on SharePoint works well and returns with this:

    http://mycompany/sites/EquipRental/FormServerTemplates/Equipment%20Rental%20Form.xsn

However, each newly completed form reverts to the longer link, only occasionally does the shorter, correct link appear (perhaps 1 of 10 times).

How & where do we make changes in order to permanently get the template link omit the SaveLocation and Source from them?

    Thanks for your help.

So - when the form is submitted, the library shows that template link? I'm wondering about the link in the email - what does that look like? Where does it come from - is that from data in the form, or is the link sent via email?

The library shows the template link if one chooses the 'relink documents' view on the SharePoint site but not the 'all documents' view.  But, yes it does.  [Sorry, I'm a logistician, not an IT person.]

An example link: http://mycompany/sites/EquipRental/Forms/2016-11-03T11_02_11last_%20first.xml.  (date & time group plus requestor's last & first names.)  This was written into a workflow process they designed to take the completed form and turn it into an email which gets sent to the one who filled out the form (so it can be forwarded externally).

Okay, so I think you are saying that when someone clicks the link from the email, the form tries to open in the browser instead of the filler and they get a "form has been closed" message. Try adding "?noredirect=true" to one of the links and see if it opens the form correctly from email - you can just email yourself with a link from one of the emails with that added to it: http://mycompany/sites/EquipRental/Forms/2016-11-03T11_02_11last_%20first.xml?noredirect=true

Ok, that's progress.  Adding "?noredirect=true" to the end is effective; the form opens as it's supposed to.  How & where might I incorporate that into the Form or Workflow process so new forms will open from the link?

The workflow step that sends the email will have to be modified to add that parameter to the URL in the email. Are you able to open the workflow in SharePoint Designer?

Yes, I found two steps where it references the URL:

"Please use the following link: [Forms:Source Url%]" and "This form can be accessed for modifications at [%Forms:Encoded Absolute URL%]"

So - you should be able to use the string builder functionality in SharePoint designer to replace those with the URL + the new query param of ?noredirect=true

Thank you Hilary.  That seems to do it.  However, the current parameter is reluctant to being edited, so I'm looking at inserting a new one, and once it works, I'll delete the old one.  I appreciate your help.
