InfoPath Dev

Has anyone seen this before where the rule inspector will show blank; these are existing templates that have rules and have worked.  I'm on Windows 10, Infopath 2013 and have not installed anything other than Windows updates and the rule inspector was working previously.

Just checked on my machine & I have the same issue. I'll update with my Windows & Office version numbers here in a little bit.

I have the same issue, I'm running InfoPath 2010 and Windows 7.  I also noticed the icon for my date pickers has changed to a plain grey box, instead of the little calendar icon as usual.  All was working fine the week before last.  Did anyone find a fix yet? 

My date picker is a plain grey box too, so it sounds like we are all having the same symptoms. I'm not seeing anything else online when I search on this tho.

We are using Windows 7 and IE11, SharePoint 2007 and InfoPath 2007, filler forms. 

I don't remember what the deadline is for Microsoft to stop InfoPath support - Is it too late to contact Microsoft about which one of their recent updates may have affected InfoPath?

 I started noticing the same issues last week: Rule inspector blank (no matter where you call it from), gray box for date picker. I can confirm all was working fine before that.

 

However, I'm RDP'd into Windows Server 2012 R2 from a Windows 10 workstation.

To add more info, If I run the published forms (same URL) while on 2012, I get the same behavior. However, if I run them directly from Windows 10, they are fine.  The build numbers for InfoPath are identical, the only difference being that on 2012, I'm running 32-bit InfoPath...     

 I have the same issue. InfoPath 2010 and windows 7. Just a day before it was working perfectly but after some windows update patches it started fails. Also I can't copy/paste images to my outlook body email messages.

 Has anyone had any success getting the rule inspector to show?  I have not seen any workarounds.

No luck for me yet, I'm assuming an update will eventually fix this.

I believe this is related to one of the following recent Windows Updates:

 KB3188730, KB3188740

Thanks, Dale - the page for KB3188730 shows a security update for Windows 10 that I do have installed. I may try removing it just to see if that resolves this for me (then I'll likely re-install it as I am doing ok without the rule inspector right now....)

Got me my rule inspector and date picker back. Now I'm gonna go re-install that update. Thanks, Dale, you're a rockstar! 

In Windows7 world, this is caused by Security Update KB3192391. I uninstalled it, rebooted, and was able to use Rule Inspector again (and the date-picker icon returned to "normal"). However, there are other things that are adversely affected by the removal of the update, so this is not an acceptable solution. Microsoft has to release another update to their update.
