It contains a repeating section with 2 text boxes for entering Agenda name and discussion details. This repeating section also has a repeating table to feed action item details like Action Item ID, Action Item Name, Action Owner, and Action Due Date. I want to publish this InfoPath to a MOM library and also publish each action item row to a SharePoint list named "Tasks". Please guide me how to publish an InfoPath repeating table inside a repeating section to a SharePoint 2010 list. I have following fields in the repeating table in Infopath to be published to a sharepoint 2010 "Tasks" list - Action Item ID (AID, text box) Action Item Description (AcITitle, text box) Action Item Owner (ActionOwner, person/group picker) Action Due Date (AcDueDate, date picker) Action Priority (AcPriority, Dropdown) I followed this link https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/infopath/2007/03/26/submitting-to-a-sharepoint-list/ but facing two problems - 1. It creates an item to list but none of the data from infopath form gets published in the item. Basically, it creates a blank item. 2. It can create items in sharepoint list for only 1 repeating table. But I have this repeating table in a repeating section and I want all rows of all repeating tables to be submitted to the sharepoint list. Reply Contact The options for submitting InfoPath data to a SharePoint list are code, qRules, or CAML - the post you reference uses CAML, with controls on the form bound to the CAML batch. If you are getting a blank list item, I'd guess that your controls aren't bound to the secondary data source. We have a bunch of YouTube videos you may find helpful - I think this one uses a CAML approach: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oQ7QdpYdx8 Hilary Stoupa 09-29-2016 04:43 AM In reply to minishopaholic Joined on 09-26-2016 Posts 9 Re: Infopath 2010: Repeating table inside a repeating section, publish each row to sharepoint list Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Hi Hillary, My CAML looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Batch OnError="Continue"> <Method ID="1" Cmd="New"> <Field Name="AID"></Field> <Field Name="AcITitle"></Field> <Field Name="ActionOwner"></Field> </Method> </Batch> I get blank list item with the above xml. But, whenever I hard code any value (see below xml), the hard coded values get written in the new item row on sharepoint list - <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <Batch OnError="Continue"> <Method ID="1" Cmd="New"> <Field Name="AID">1</Field> <Field Name="AcITitle">TEST</Field> <Field Name="ActionOwner">TEST</Field> </Method> </Batch> 09-29-2016 07:46 AM In reply to Hilary Stoupa Joined on 06-20-2008 Posts 13,297 Re: Infopath 2010: Repeating table inside a repeating section, publish each row to sharepoint list Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact And how, in the form, are you setting your CAML fields? Are the fields on your form? Are you using code or rules to set the values? Reply Contact Hi Hilary, I designed the infopath form. Added a repeating section in form which has 2 text boxes and a repeating table in it. This repeating table contains the fields whose name is same as each field in the SP list and the CAML file. I think I have done some goof up here. The repeating table data should be promoted to the SP list via the xml CAML code file, right? I have a Receive data connection for the CAML code xml file. I have a submit button which performs action using rules. And, for this submit button, I have set a Form Submit rule which submits the form data via list web service. This list web service belongs to the site in which my custom list resides. But what is going to copy data from repeating table for this list web service to write data into SharePoint list? The data connection configuration for this list web service is as follows - 1. Submit 2. To a list web service 3. UpdateListItems 4. field selected for listname parameter is listname (textbox, with value as the list guid, created under myfields.) 5. field selected for updatelist parameter is set to Batch (caml file as secondary data source, xml tree option selected) 10-03-2016 02:13 AM In reply to minishopaholic Joined on 09-26-2016 Posts 9 Re: Infopath 2010: Repeating table inside a repeating section, publish each row to sharepoint list Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact I made some modifications which were either missing from the tutorial I was referring to or I missed something. Anyway, here's what I did - Updated the CAML and added CopyFieldName = '' to every field. Created a true/false type field called "SubmitAction" inside the repeating table group and added rules to it to copy data from repeating table fields to the respective CAML fields. On submit button I added 2 rules to trigger it - 1. set the value of "SubmitAction" field to TRUE and 2.set the value of "SubmitAction" field to FALSE But I'm getting SOAP error now and items are not getting submitted to the list. The error says "cannot access closed sream" 10-03-2016 07:46 AM In reply to Hilary Stoupa Joined on 06-20-2008 Posts 13,297 Re: Infopath 2010: Repeating table inside a repeating section, publish each row to sharepoint list Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Are you sure your CAML field names are correct? I've had this error when I've had an invalid column name: http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/hilary/archive/2015/08/26/cannot-access-a-closed-stream.aspx Hilary Stoupa 10-03-2016 11:22 AM In reply to minishopaholic Joined on 09-26-2016 Posts 9 Re: Infopath 2010: Repeating table inside a repeating section, publish each row to sharepoint list Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Hi Hilary, I checked your thread and all column names were correct. I was able to get rid of this error by changing FieldRef to just Field in the CAML. :P My form submits each row of each repeating table to SP list like a charm.. :) The only problem that I have right now is - How to autonumber each repeating table rows? If last submitted item id was 12 then in the new form, first repeating table row ids should be like 13, 14, 15 and next repeating table row id should start with 15. 10-04-2016 09:53 AM In reply to minishopaholic Joined on 09-26-2016 Posts 9 Re: Infopath 2010: Repeating table inside a repeating section, publish each row to sharepoint list Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Any suggestion on how to achieve this type of auto numbering? Also, how can i send person picker value as domain/jdoe ie. Accountid to the sharepoint list? 10-04-2016 09:58 AM In reply to Hilary Stoupa Joined on 06-20-2008 Posts 13,297 Re: Infopath 2010: Repeating table inside a repeating section, publish each row to sharepoint list Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Look into preceding-sibling formulas for your numbering - but if you are trying to get the list item ID for the item, you probably need to query the list. Maybe include something unique to the item in your submit. Do you have a person / group column you are trying to submit data to? If so, you need to use values like the following (I don't believe domain is needed): -1;#userName Hilary Stoupa 10-05-2016 11:28 AM In reply to minishopaholic Joined on 09-26-2016 Posts 9 Re: Infopath 2010: Repeating table inside a repeating section, publish each row to sharepoint list Mark as Not AnswerMark as Answer... Reply Contact Hi Hilary, Everything works fine now except the action item ID and giving link of form library in the action item list. I was promoting pc:person instead of accountID thats why i was facing problem in getting a value which can be resolved as email address. Made the change and it works well now. Any idea how i can give link of the current infopath form (from which action items are promoted to the action item list) in the item list column to directly open it from there?
