Calculated field default set to blank if no data is entered in corresponding fileds

    Hey guys,

I am fairly new to Infopath and didn't find what I was looking for when searched. I created an infopath form for a Sharepoint list and I am trying to set a calculated fields default value to blank when no data is entered in by the user. Can someone please help?

    Thanks!!

Well - how many corresponding fields are there? Maybe you could use rules instead, set rules on the fields that would set the value, with the first rule to clear the field? Then you could have conditions as to when to set the field.

Thanks for the reply! There are 5 corresponding fields that are by default set to blank if no data is entered...right now even if the user does not enter any data into those fields and saves the form it automatically saves the value to the calculated field to zero. So there is no way to set the default value of the calculated field to blank?

There is, but it can be really complex. Here is a blog post that may help you: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/infopath/2006/11/27/conditional-default-values/
