    Getting data from same record

I think that I may be overthinking this. I am creating a form for golf registration. If someone pays for someone else during online registration, it will add the GOLF ID of the person who paid to the record of the person that they paid for. So golfer 'David Smith' has Golf ID "001" pays for golfer 'John Jones', it shows in column 'Paid By' "001". I would like to display in a separate column called "Paid By Name", "David Smith"

Golf ID            Golfer                Paid By          Paid For          Paid By Name

    001              David Smith                                002

002              John Jones            001                                       David Smith

How can I get this data? What would formula in Paid by Name be to get "David Smith" in that "Paid By Name" field?

    Thanks for any assistance.

Can you attach a copy of your form under the Options tab in a reply? I'm not really sure what you currently have in place here. :)

Hi Hillary, what I am trying to accomplish in this form is to complete Paid By Name by using the Paid By column. So if "Paid By" is equal to 101 (which is the payer's "Player ID"), then I would like to query the list to find the "full name" for "Paid By" and populate the name in "Paid By Name". Is this possible. These are all just text fields.

Hillary, also here are the relevant columns in the list.

So, just to explain this image. I am trying to get the "paid by name" column to display "Ascher, David" because his playerid=101 and he paid for all of these people and the "paid for" column for Ascher, David to display all of the names of the people that he paid for. Is this possible?

I added rules to the paidby field to set the query field in Golf Names, run the query, and set the Paid By Name. Save the file locally, right click and select design and then preview to see if this does what you need.

Hillary, this worked perfectly! Thank you so much!!

I have one more issue that is a little more complicated. Is it possible in a list form to do the following?

PlayerID 101 pays for 8 players. In his record only, I would like to show a list of all of the players names that he paid for.

     Is that possible?

I'd think it would be - create another data connection to the list, set the correct query field to the player ID, run the query, and display the data from the data fields in the secondary data connection on the form?

Thanks Hillary. I will give that a try and report back in the next day. Appreciate your response.
