Problem Publishing IP2010 Form with People Picker Value in Text Field so i can Restrict Record access to where Text Field = [Me]

I have an SharePoint library view where I need to limit record visibility to only those who created the record or their manager. In Sharepoint 2010 I created 2 people fields, creatorname and managername. When the IP form loads, I grab current user, the lookup info and get their manager name and login id. Via a SharePoint on create workflow I set a variable for out domain, then set creatorname and managername to the variable + text field on the form. It runs successfully about 85% of the time... then errors out. And what an error! "The workflow could not update the item, possibly because one or more columns for the item require a different type of information." I am only setting value to 1 field on create. AND it works most of the time. The server log error = "System.Workflow.Runtime.Hosting.PersistenceException: The file Expense Report Management/CHEXP - 0716 - CJS - 5.xml has been modified by PUCKETT1\xupd44cjs on 07 Jul 2016 12:20:04 -0500. ---> Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: The file Expense Report Management/CHEXP - 0716 - CJS - 5.xml has been modified by PUCKETT1\xupd44cjs on 07 Jul 2016 12:20:04 -0500. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x81020037): 0x81020015The file Expense Report Management/CHEXP - 0716 - CJS - 5.xml has been modified by PUCKETT1\xupd44cjs on 07 Jul 2016 12:20:04 -0500. ........" I even added a people picker to my form, then set a text field to it's value and promoted the text field. When I try to filter my view to text field = [Me] I get an "Filter value is not a valid text string" error. I have been working on this for several weeks. Because i can't figure this out i am having to check the records every hour or so to see if the creatorname or managername are blank, if so terminate the workflow, edit the workflow to run on change, save the record, when the workflow finishes set it back to on create only. I have some vacation coming up next week and would love to actually take it. Anyone have a solution?? Corrie
