Repeating Table Sequential Dates - Set Default Date

    All,

    Using InfoPath 2010

I've a repeating table. I've changed the default value so that it automatically opens up with 5 rows.

The first field in the repeating table is a date control.

I can auto populate the table with sequential dates - http://www.bizsupportonline.net/infopath2007/automatically-populate-repeating-table-infopath-sequential-dates.htm

How can I set the 1st row only with a default date, without setting all field 1s to the same date, but have them run sequentially?

Ideally I'll be using a separate StartDate field as I'll also have to have an EndDate field.

    Thanks

Don't use a calculated value. Use a rule. You'll have to modify the rule in the manifest to set the value for only the first one. You'll have to do the same when they enter data for it if you want to set a date for the second, third, etc..

The challenge is that you can't set a specific row in the Designer. You can by manually editing the manifest.xsf file but it's advanced. We cover this in our InfoPath Master class in June-July, and you should come to that! :)

Of course, the simpler way to do this is to use SetValue command in qRules but you can do it without code.

Email me or Hilary if you need help.

Thanks, had to move away from a repeating table due to other reasons.
