Repeating Fields Stored in Access Database

This is my first question and I'm pretty new to InfoPath so apologies if I'm not clear or not making sense! The company I work at are looking to implement a simple authorisation process for when sales guys want to invest some money with our customers. Essentially the sales guy would submit a form detailing the expense, it would then be authorised by me (or not), then on to the relevant brand manager, then to finance. The stuff around the process itself I'm relatively comfortable with (or haven't got that far to think about it yet) but what I'm struggling with seems like it should be so simple but I can't figure it out! I'm using an Access database to store the information recorded in the form. This is because of a combination of a) wanting to keep a record of requests and b) our limited understanding (actually none) of XML etc. The problem I'm having is this: On the form there is what I would call a header section, where the sales person would enter the customer name and other details that cover the whole form. There is then a 'detail' section where they enter which brands they are investing in, and how much. For this I have a repeating table so that they can enter investment against more than brand, should they wish. I can't work out, however, how I can set the 'header' section stuff up to not have to be entered for each brand line in the repeating table. If I make it so that the header details are set up as non repeating fields, when I open the Access table in the background it only has the customer against the first brand line and is empty against any further brand lines. I hope I've explained that ok, and please be gentle, I've only used InfoPath a couple of times...I'm generally pretty good at googling solutions and adapting to my needs for things like this, but I just can't seem to find the solution I need in this instance. I'm using InfoPath 2013 for what it's worth. Thanks in advance.

Hi! So, what are your options for this Access DB? Because personally I'd start with two tables - one to store my header info, then another to store the repeating data. I think you can modify your database, then walk through the main connection again to update it - and then you'd be able to add the header table and the connected child table... does that make sense? Having your data structure more accurately reflect reality usually makes everything easier. :)

If changing things are NOT an option, we can probably use default values in the fields that you are using for your header - they'll need to use a preceding-sibling formula, and I can give you a hand with that as well.
