    is it a mashup?

I have 2 lists:  Reviewers and Proposals

    ReviewerList
    ReviewerPersonA
    ReviewerPersonB
    ReviewerPersonC
    ReviewerPersonD
    ...
ReviewerPersonN (we don't know how many reviewers will be available)

    Proposal List
    Reviewer1 (selected from filtered ReviewerList)
    Reviewer2 (selected from filtered ReviewerList)
    Reviewer3 (selected from filtered ReviewerList)

Each proposal will have 3 reviewers, assigned manually.  The poor clerk who has to assign reviewers needs help -- a dashboard that shows how many proposals each reviewer has been assigned so far.   It would show

ReviewerPersonA - Count times listed as Reviewer1, 2, or 3 in Proposal List
ReviewerPersonB - Count times listed as Reviewer 1, 2, or 3 in Proposal List
    ...
ReviewerPersonN - Count times listed as Reviewer 1, 2, or 3 in Proposal List

Is this possible using InfoPath?? Thank you.

Yeah, I think you could do this in InfoPath - add two data connections, one for each list. Then use the repeating data source node for the Reviewer List for the table on your form.... The count formula will be a calculated value that adds up the counts all instances of Reviewer1, 2, or 3 that match the reviewer in the given row.... Then you can get fancy and even hide rows where that tallies up to 0, so you can hide any reviewers that don't have a proposal. If you get stuck, attach your template to a reply under the options tab & I can probably get you un-stuck :)

Thank you Hilary! I'm stuck, so have attached my form. The Reviewer Dashboard is in the "Assign" view. My calculated value formula is count(Reviewer1[. = current()/Title]) + count(Reviewer2[. = current()/Title]) + count(Reviewer2[. = current()/Title]) Title is the ReviewerName field in my repeating table. I'm getting "Binding a non-repeating control to a repeating field or group is not supported in Web browser forms." If I remove the filters, the error goes away. Appreciate your offer to help!--Susan

But when you preview the form, is the count correct? Because your formula looks right to me. Or were you just concerned you'd have issues when you publish? As long as your form doesn't have code, that error can be ignored - here's a blog post about it. http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/hilary/archive/2012/01/19/ipfs-design-checker-errors-amp-print-preview.aspx

Yes, it works! Thought that error was a show-stopper - so glad it's safe to ignore. Thanks again!

Oh great - so that error - for some reason, InfoPath thinks you've bound that calc'd value to repeating data (even though you have a filter on it and know it will only return one item!). I've generally only had a problem with it if my form has code and is directly published to a form library (sandboxed) or if my form is admin approved and has a print view (again, this was a form with code). If it allows you to publish and works in the browser as anticipated, just ignore it. If it ever causes you trouble, the view file can be manually modified to make it behave, as per that blog post. :)
