possible to have Excel-type field in qRules injected/browser enabled InfoPath 2010 form?

    Hello,

I have a browser-enabled InfoPath 2010 form with qRules 7.2 injected. In the form there's a repeating table, and one of the repeating fields is called Amount, which is a decimal (currency) format.

Is it possible to allow users to type a formula within the field itself to get to a number? For example, type "=500+1000+250" and the field will return $1,750. Currently it just returns the text typed and treats it as an error since it is not a numerical value.

Could I create a new custom control with this functionality if it not currently available?

    Please advise, thanks!

There isn't anything in qRules that I can think of that would do this. InfoPath and Excel are two very different creatures. I don't think you could create a custom control for this for a browser form.... maybe? I wonder about using Excel Services as a REST connection and sending this as a value to a spreadsheet - if Excel REST would return the calc'd result. But I think you'd have trouble making this type of input valid as part of a REST URL.
