Repeating Tables using Secondary Data Source (using Infopath 2010 with SharePoint)

Hi, I have a form that has a secondary data source. I can pull it into a repeating table and filter it to the results I want, but what I can't seem to do is get it to save this with the form. So that when I go back in to the form, the results are still there . They disappear. Is there a way of doing this or creating another table in main data to copy it into ? The amount of columns will vary each time depending on the query filter used. I'm new to Infopath so may be missing something obvious. Thanks, Chris

Hi - you are correct that you'll have to copy the data into the main data source to save it with the form. Your options are custom code, qRules, or adding a bunch of rows by default (more than you think the query will ever return) and using rules to copy the data in. I may have a sample form with the last approach - I'll look later today and see. :)

Here's a sample of the default data technique - a number of rows are included by default (under the Data tab in the ribbon) then rules are used to populate values. Save it locally, right click and select design, then preview.

Great thanks for your help. I may need to get some coding done for it as the number of lines it pulls through each time varies per form. Also read this and I think this is talking about the same thing: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/t/9471.aspx Thanks, Chris
