I have three Content
types on a SharePoint Site. Three very large (250+ fields per form) InfoPath
forms, one for each content type are published to a SharePoint Form Library.
Approximately 50 columns from each form are published to the SharePoint Library
and additional 30 columns created on the library for the metadata and analysis
of the submitted application forms. Approximately 150 applications were
submitted in 2015. During 2015 submission year, Section A of just one
form kept freezing up on our users. We used work around to submit their
information for Section A during 2015 submission year.
However, how to fix
this issue?
What I have tried so
far:
- Took out Section
A and cut and pasted Section A from the form that does not freeze up and
re-bounded the controls. (Result: Still section A freezes up)
I am not sure if the
approach below will create any issue or not. However, I have a few
Questions:
In anticipation of
fixing the freeze up information, if I create a fresh, Brand new Form (not a
new view on the existing template), recreate all the sections, pertinent rules
and rebind the controls and publish on the same content type, will my current
data be affected? Or, would my future data line up in the same library
alongside the previous data?
It is a lot of work
and I am afraid that after spending hours of recreation, it may end up ruining
the existing data, thus seeking guidance before a plunge.
