    Preceding-Sibling InfoPath 2013 Help

Hi. I have a Master/Detail repeating table and I have a button that once a user fills out the first row and click the button, the rest of the rows will populate with the same values. Example, when the user gets to this repeating table, there are already 1 or more values for 3 rows and they are required fill in 10 other values. When they click the button, I want the 10 rows to fill in for the other items that have been inserted. I have tried every combination that I can think of for setting the fields value with preceding-sibling and I always get an error of "../preceding-sibling::my:CONAFinisGoodReq/my:GeneralInfo/my:LocTableGrp/my:LocTable/my:CONASrce" does not point to a valid location path of a field or group. Even if I take some of the folder paths out it still will not verify the formula. Attached is a screenshot of the formula error as well as an example of the repeating table. The Master data is chosen on a different view and the view shown is where a user is to populate fields in the detail under the first 3 fields. Again, once the first selling location adiitional properties are chosen, I would like the remaining selling locations to populate if the button is clicked. Complete X-Path of one of the fields. /my:CONAFinisGoodReq/my:GeneralInfo/my:LocTableGrp/my:LocTable/my:CONASrce Thanks in advance.

Hi - your button is not inside a repeating section or table, right? I think this may be easier than you anticipate, if that's the case - you should be able to just set CONASrce to CONASrce - InfoPath will by default select the first instance and will set all instances to it. See the attached sample - save the file locally, right click and select design, then preview to try it out.

I learned that this should be a rule on the table itself and works if a user has a value in the field and selects insert row, but I would like it to populate all existing rows that were chosen at a different place in the process, after the user populates the first set of data.

I am going to try that now. Thank you, that is exactly what I wanted to accomplish. I was making it way harder than it needed to be. Thanks again!!!
